  11. -------
  12. BR's PhotoArchiver is shareware. You can try it free for 60 days. During
  13. this period all functionality of the program will be available. At the
  14. end of this period, all editing and import functions will stop working,
  15. but you may still view your images. To restore full functionality, you
  16. have to register the PhotoArchiver and pay the license fee (see
  17. http://www.photoarchiver.com/register.html. You will then receive a
  18. license code that will restore full functionality.
  19.  
  20. You are free to distribute the complete package (the file photoarchiver.zip)
  21. in any way wou want, but GIVING THE LICENSE CODE TO OTHERS IS ILLEGAL.
  22. Each license code is unique and traceable.

  24. System Requirements
  25. -------------------
  26. Windows95/98/ME/NT4 and Windows 2000.
  27. 3 MB diskspace + room for database and images
  28. 32 MB memory
  29. Pentium 100 MHz 
  30. Graphic resolution of at least 800x600 and 65535 colours 
  31. is recommended. Will work on 640x480, but 256 colours will 
  32. not work well.

  34. Installation
  35. ------------
  36. Install by clicking the file setup.exe in this archive.
  37. The installation procedure will be automatic, but you 
  38. can choose where to place the program files. By default 
  39. all files will be placed in \program files\PhotoArchiver. 
  40.  
  41. Uninstall
  42. ---------
  43. This program can be completly uninstalled from the 
  44. Control Panel as long as you don't put any new files 
  45. into the program directory.

  48. Just another image organizer?
  49. -------------------------------------
  50. The idea behind this program is different from most 
  51. image cataloging programs. Instead of browsing directories 
  52. of imagefiles, you import a reference to the files into a 
  53. database. You can then forget all about where the files are 
  54. located. Enter a description for each picture describing 
  55. where and when the picture was taken, and a general description. 
  56. This can be done very fast; either by using the text 
  57. entered for one picture as default for the next or by 
  58. specifying a range of pictures to update. All words in 
  59. the description are searchable. Each picture may also be 
  60. assigned to one or many categories (or albums). 
  61. You may choose to search within one or all categories or you
  62. may display all pictures in a certain category.
  63.  
  64. This makes a very powerful system for locating a certain 
  65. picture. Some time ago, I needed to locate a picture of 
  66. a Portugese Man of War that I took some years ago. 
  67. I didn't remember which year it was taken so locating 
  68. the picture by browsing directories would have taken time 
  69. (I have several thousands pictues on my hard disc sorted by year). 
  70. I just entered 'Portugese +man' in the searchfield and 
  71. the picture was located (and displayed) in less than one second.

  399.   save the text for the current picture and advance to editing
  400.   next picture in one operation.

  402. - it is now easier to add/remove categories for many photos in

  470. - The Progress popup window do now have an abort button so you can 
  471.   abort long operations. Some operation cannot be aborted as this

  546.   preferences form (ctrl-s).
